Getting out of traffic ticket (San Diego)?

I just got a speeding ticket for 81 in a 65 the other day by a California Highway Patrol officer in El Cajon in San Diego County. I was hoping to postpone the proceedings because I was planning a vacation when I am due in court. Does anyone know if there are any forms about change of venue, or to get continuances at the courthouse, and if this is something that I can do myself?
