Is it possible to stay awake while?

getting implants? I have had two c-sections before but of course alot of people are pretty much awake during that. I have also had my gall bladder removed and for that one they had to put me to sleep... i hate that feeling. So I was wondering if it was possible to stay awake during this surgery ( implants) ?
