If an Anglican used scripture from the Apocrypha,how do you think, it would be viewed?

I attended an Anglican school where the head teacher used occasionally to read from the Book of Wisdom at embly. I think that it is acceptable to read parts of the Apocrypha which contain wise words, just as one would quote from poetical or literary works, but scripturally based preaching has to be firmly rooted in the Bible.
