My kick pedal on my drum set keeps on getting stuck to the drum, what can I do to stop it?

Almost every time I hit the pedal, the stick that hits the b drum gets stuck on the drum... what can I do to stop this or is there anything I could put on the drum (like a lubricant) so that the stick doesn't get stuck on it (but a lubricant that wont mess up the drum)???
