Im going to florida soon, but I really want a makeover before..?

My hair is currently to my collarbone.. its been like this for about a year, i used to like it.. but when I wear short sleeves or strapless things, it makes my shoulders look very broad, and I hate it. I would like to have hair extensions because ive been trying to grow my hair out since September ... I hate when it gets too long because it ruins the cut, but when its too short i hate it. Also, since I enjoy wearing edgy things, (zippers, chains,, leather , ) What should I wear to the airport? My parents wont let me wear anything not dressy like sweatpants and hoodies. Im afraid if I wear my fancy clothes then the people will have to do a pat search on me. I guess I just need some advice on what to do with my hair.. and how to ask her for hair extensions. (Btw the last time I asked her she said that it ruins your hair, which I realize)
