In Fallout 3, what is the easiest way to get to vault 112 from megaton?

i actually fast tracked to vault 101 from megaton because it's the closest place to get there and as i walked through the wasteland giant scorpian things, mutated wolf freak things, super mutant behmoths, and raiders were everywhere!!! I had nowhere to go that was safe. I've tried to go through there 3 times already and I've died. Can anyone tell me an easier way cause im getting pissed. Thanks.
