Why Cant you have traditional beliefs without people thinking your a caveman?

Why is it if you talk about traditional values or beliefs people think your a caveman or a uptight prude? Im not talking about having a "little woman" waiting for me at home, raising our kids, but just valueing each other as individuals, not flirting with other people, not getting yourself into possible situations which could be problamatic? I just believe that if you truely love someone, and your truely happy, why do you need to flirt, or get yourselves into ackward situations, which could lead to arguments. Call me old fashioned but i think if more people thought like this, we would have lower divorce rates less "broken homes", more discipline in society, lower crime, and fewr ual diseases.
